Job Description – Electromechanical Design Engineer (Creo + Windchill + Electrical Cabinets)

Project Context:
The role supports global engineering program focused on the design, modification, and lifecycle management of electrical control cabinets and mechanical components for industrial and power distribution products.
The project involves:
3D modelling and detailing in Creo
Working with Windchill PLM (ECO/ECN, BOM, workflows, versioning)
Supporting legacy to new model design updates, PLM migration deliverables, and product lifecycle enhancements
Close coordination with global engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
Ensuring high-quality, manufacturable designs for sheet metal, fabricated, and electrical enclosure components
Roles & Responsibilities:
Mechanical & Electrical Cabinet Design
Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in Creo Parametric
Design and update electrical cabinets, enclosures, control panel layouts, brackets, busbar supports, sheet metal parts, etc.
Ensure designs meet manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and performance requirements
Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis
"PLM & Documentation"
Work extensively in Windchill PLM for:
Part creation
Assembly updates
BOM creation and modification
Engineering Changes (ECR/ECO/ECN)
Release workflows, version control
Support PLM data migration activities (legacy data validation, cleanup, mapping) — preferred, not mandatory
Engineering Execution:
Interpret engineering inputs (GA, SLD, ECNs, BOM, specifications)
Perform design updates based on engineering change requests
Ensure drawing/dataset compliance with internal and client standards
Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (Manufacturing, Quality, Electrical, Global Teams)
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure DFM/DFA considerations are included
Support reviews, audits, drawing checks, and correction cycles
Follow company design standards, safety requirements, and correctness protocols
Mandatory Skills:
Technical Must-Haves
✔ Creo Parametric – 3D modeling & drafting (minimum 3+ years)
✔ Windchill PLM – 2+ years
✔ Electrical cabinet / enclosure / control panel design experience
✔ Sheet metal design (hands-on experience)
✔ GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
✔ Understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, bend tables, flat patterns
Functional Must-Haves
✔ Experience working with engineering changes – ECR, ECO, ECN
✔ Ability to understand BOM structures, part numbering, versioning
✔ Strong drawing quality and revision discipline
✔ Ability to coordinate with global engineering teams
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills (Optional)
PLM Migration Exposure (data validation, cleanup, comparison, mapping)
IEC / UL Standards exposure for electrical cabinets
Wiring Harness / Cable Routing knowledge
Experience in busbar supports, brackets, mechanical integration with electrical parts
Experience with Teamcenter / AutoCAD / SolidWorks
Experience in industrial equipment, switchgear, control panels, datacenter equipment
